Peacocks and Pineapples

 I've finished another project!
This is an afghan made from a doily pattern called "Peacocks and Pineapples"

The pattern is found here

I used 4 skeins of Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red
H Hook
50" in diameter

This was very fun and challenging to make and the recipient loved it!

Tom's Shirts Quilt

FINALLY FINISHED!!!

This quilt was several years in the making - and it sure feels good to have it finished!
I made this out of fabric from our friend Tom's Hawaiian shirt collection.  Not only is the fabric soft from wear,  but there are memories with the fabrics, too.

Lake Chabot

The kids and I took a walk on a portion of the trail that goes around Lake Chabot in Castro Valley.
The area is very pretty and the trail would be good for a serious walk just as much as a leisurely one.
We'll have to go back when it's a little warmer - and hopefully we get more rain so the water level isn't so low.

Friday was spent sewing quilt tops with some of my guild members. The quilts and pillowcases we made go to hospitalized children and groups that help low income and at - risk women with prenatal care and support them after their babies are born. We met a couple of women from these groups and it felt good to know how appreciative people are to receive our hand made items.
