Frozen

Quinn loves music, and will dance or move to even the slightest bit of music...in a commercial...in the store...she just has an ear for it.

When the movie "Frozen" came out, she was very struck by the song "Let It Go".

Here she is, playing on the couch while the movie plays in the background.  She has passion for the chorus!

One More Dress

I had such fun making her the first dress I turned around and made another.  This fabric was supposed to be for an apron that went over a skirt that I had already made for myself years ago.  As part of an effort to use up what fabrics I have, I was happy to have enough to make this dress and have begun piecing a simple quilt that will use up the rest of the collection.  She loves the idea of not having sleeves and the pockets are just icing on the cake!

Easter, a Day Trip and a New Dress

We had a very simple Easter.  The kids did an egg hunt, we watched a movie and then explored two parks near our house.

Yesterday we explored North Beach and China Town in San Francisco

This morning I finished a dress for Quinn.

A Birthday, A Haircut and Some Hiking

Arlo turned 5!  We went to the San Jose Tech Museum to see the Star Wars exhibit.  He was so very excited.  It was really neat to see the costumes and props in real life and to feel the scale of some of the characters.

Quinn got her first haircut.  I just trimmed her bangs a bit so she could see!  It was very hard to capture her once she was set free from the chair.

Mat and Wyatt hiked some trails in Pleasanton, Ca

Art was done on the driveway...

The kids and I went to Sibley Volcanic Regional Reserve.  This is another beautiful hiking area.  The drive up to the trails was amazing - a winding road with views of Oakland, the Bay, and San Francisco.  The park is a self-guided trail system.  There are free maps to help you learn about certain points of interest.  It was very fun - though it was rough walking for Quinn and Arlo was worn out!!
