Busy Busy!

May has been a busy and fun month. We started off with two birthday parties for Wyatt to attend. Then we had Mat's birthday and our 12th Anniversary (time flies!). Mat has also been working more hours now that we're in Ice Cream Season.

On May 22nd I took the boys to Maker Faire. It was a lot of fun. Next year all four of us need to go so we can see more of the booths. It was a challenge with a stroller, there were a lot of people there. We did get to see Adam Savage from Mythbusters speak...which Wyatt was excited about. I got to see Jenny Hart from Sublime Stitching.

These are the heads from Doggy Diners since torn down.

Wyatt scaled this sculpture only to find out he couldn't reach the pedals to operate the wings. It was still cool, though.

Yesterday we took a road trip to Santa Cruz.

Boats to rent.

Lifeguard station.

View of the boardwalk from the pier.

Obligatory corn dog and later some salt water taffy.
Then we drove north and stopped at a beach...

Finally...a Grill!

The moving Gods were on our side this time...and WE inherited a grill. Our next-door neighbors were kind enough to pass along their grill and small table. So today, after 9 months, we finally cooked out!

Last weekend the kids and I walked to Osage Park. If you click on the link you'll see a couple of pictures of the roses. I have never seen such beautiful roses in person-and so HUGE!

We then walked home along Iron Horse Trail, stopping at an elementary school playground.

Then a special stop at Burger King...a 6 mile walk makes you hungry!

These Rosea Eucalyptus trees line Crow Canyon Road, and are a new favorite. Their bark appears anywhere from red to purple to black and they have very cool flowers.

Hopefully this weekend is just as nice!

All Hopped up on Jelly Beans

Happy Easter!

Yesterday our friends were kind enough to host an egg hunt.

This morning the boys got baskets and had jelly beans and chocolate for breakfast. Now I think I need the sun to come out so I can get them down off of their sugar highs!

Lafayette Resevoir

On April 3 we went to Moraga, CA.
Arlo got his first ice cream cone!

On April 9th, Mat took us to the Lafayette Reservoir. They have a great playground for the kids, a lot of picnic area, and a paved path around the reservoir.

And because the nearly 3 mile long hike wasn't enough, Mat and Wyatt went to a local park the next day and climbed the hill there!

Road Trip March 27, 2011

Wyatt asked to go somewhere to see snow.
I looked up the snow levels and figured we'd do a little road trip.
We headed east to Jamestown, CA. Our first stop was Railtown 1897.

The movie industry helped keep this roadhouse in business, and is still in use today. Currently there are wildflower train rides running.

We walked through downtown Jamestown.

After Jamestown we continued east to Twain Harte, CA. There was plenty of snow here!

On the way home we stopped by a market in the middle of an almond farm. We ended up buying more roasted almonds than we'll eat in a year! We'll have to make this trip again in the Summer. Twain Harte seems to have a bunch of cottages that are rented out similar to the Outer Banks, NC.

The Big 2

March 9th was Arlo's 2nd birthday!

On the 12th we went into San Francisco to meet up with a friend of mine who was able to sneak away from work for a quick visit. It was short, but wonderful to see her and to catch up.

We met by the Moscone center. The boys were kind enough to pose outside of the carousel.

We then went to Burlingame to visit another friend and her beautiful cats. Wyatt sold a good portion of his tennis ball collection to help protect the kitties from the post on their new play fortress. (Thank you Dorian-the tennis balls were getting out of control)

Then we headed on to another friend's house for a birthday party. We had a great day, and it was nice to have seen so many of our friends.

M Street

In February we got 2610 on the market. As of this post, we're still waiting for a buyer...so if anyone knows anyone....
