Nose Bullets

They may look like innocent peas....
...but when inserted into the nose and exhaled sharply they become fast moving projectiles. And apparently this isn't a new thing, but he's been less obvious! One more thing to be cautious of.
And one more star was finished.

I hope everyone has a safe yet scaaary Halloween!

Pumpkins and Words-

On Wednesday we took the boys to the pumpkin patch at the farmer's market by the Glass House.

When I got home from work on Thursday, Arlo was rockin' his new "cold shoulder" look.

I helped scoop out the pumpkin guts while Mat carved Wyatt's designs into the pumpkins.

And Arlo continues to entertain.

Saturday was the Fall Carnival at Wyatt's school.

There are benefits to a suburban school-a lot of grassy playground!

As you can tell, he had a terrible time!

Mat and Wyatt got home just in time to miss the rain. I think this was the first rain we've had since we moved to California.
On Sunday the rain continued. I picked up a few more pieces of fabric and was able to complete another star for Nolan's quilt. (The star is paper-pieced by machine)

Arlo had his first conscious umbrella experience.

The umbrella is just his size, literally.

Catch Up

I have been doing a terrible job of updating this blog. So here is a catch-up post.

On October 10 Mat and Wyatt took the BART to the city to check out the Blue Angles and Fleet Week.

They weren't the only ones!

I'm not sure what was the most fun. A ride in the subway, a trek through San Francisco, watching acrobatic airplanes from rooftops and crowded stairwells, hanging out with dear friends, or tacos in North Beach. All together they had a great day!

Arlo has been adding of this posting he has "Wyatt", "Arlo", "shoe", "eyes", and "mama" and "dada". He also barks when he hears dogs bark! Now if only he could learn the valuable word, "please".
This past week Wyatt had early dismissal for parent/teacher conferences. (He had an EXCELLENT review). The boys enjoyed a splash at Central Park. It's odd to have this weather in October.

This past Sunday I took Wyatt to a classmate's birthday party at Pump It Up. The kids had a great time.

Arlo is still trying to walk in his Dad's shoes!

Lastly, I have started a project. This is part of a cowboy quilt for my nephew. Hopefully I continue to make progress.

September 11, 2010

Time for a little back tracking. On September 11 we headed to the Golden Gate Bridge.

Wyatt's expression and we drove onto Lombard St

Driving across the Golden Gate.

We walked along the bridge a little bit. We had forgotten Arlo's stroller so anything more would have been a real chore.

Wyatt's first and lasting impression of Fisherman's Wharf. We ate at a restaurant that had a view of the fishing boats.

As we drove out of town we saw the sculpture, "Cupid's Span". This was installed after we moved to VA, so it was a pleasant surprise to see on the waterfront.
